Monthly Allocation Dashboard

Identifying the monthly allocation of county funds appropriated for MHSA services

Counties receive monthly MHSA allocation from the State Controller’s Office (SCO) based on prior month’s tax collection. This dashboard displays information on monthly allocation amounts by Mental Health Program (MHP) from August 2012 to present. To learn more about how allocation is determined please reference Department of Healthcare Services information notice 20-38 located, https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/formsandpubs/Pages/2020-BH-Information-Notices.aspx

Data for this tool is from SCO’s website on MHSA funds appropriation. Amounts displayed in this dashboard exclude withholding/returning of MHSA funds due to late filing of Revenue and Expenditure Reports (RERs) but do include re-allocation of reverted MHSA funds. Displays on monthly allocation amounts, month over month comparison and fiscal year-to-date comparison, at both statewide and MHP level, are included. Data was last updated on January 13, 2023.
