The visit was an opportunity for the Commission to consider the impact of community disasters on student mental health, and the way in which school districts might respond through rapid screening and triaged care. Through presentations and discussion with students, administrators, and staff, attendees learned about PsySTART, a post-disaster mental health screening and triage tool used by Sonoma County in the aftermath of wildfires.
