The objective of this Regional Town Hall was to provide a platform for discussing mental health issues and other important topics, such as Care Court, SB 43, and 988, through a panel discussion. There was 6 panelist consisted of Judge, Behavioral Health Represetatives, Care Court Self Help Center Represetative, and NAMI CA staff. This event offered an opportunity to share information, and collaborate on regional solutions. The panelists were well-prepared with pre-written questions and the session concluded with an open Q&A segment. Judge Magdalena Cohen provided extensive information on what to expect in CARE court, detailing the process within Riverside County. All the panelists emphasized their commitment to supporting families and their loved ones, even if they do not qualify for the CARE Act. They encouraged everyone to apply, assuring that alternative support would be provided regardless of eligibility.
