The MHSOAC continues to follow all directives from Governor Newsom and the California Department of Public Health’s guidance relating to COVID-19, found at https://covid19.ca.gov/  We have taken steps to enable staff to work remotely and continue to be available to support our partners during this unprecedented and evolving crisis.

Despite the necessity of physical separateness statewide to slow the spread of COVID-19, please be reminded that as human beings, we also need emotional and mental connectedness to remain healthy.

In this time of social distancing, the Commission joins mental health professionals in encouraging communities of all kinds to set up and routinely participate in non-physical interactions, such as online chatting and phone calls, to maintain this vital connectedness that strengthens us all.

Support for people at risk for suicide or those supporting people at risk is available by calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 988.
