Are you interested in learning more about what it is like to work in the public mental health field? The Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Volunteer Program invites people with lived experience of mental illness, including family members, to join in this opportunity to explore working in the public mental health field.
Since early 2013, the MHSA Volunteer Program has been providing individuals a chance to give back to their community while gaining valuable work-experience. MHSA Volunteers receive hands-on training, education and orientation into the public mental health field. The Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for individuals to enrich their lives and the lives of others by serving as a living example of wellness, resiliency, and recovery. Participants may choose to volunteer occasionally at community events and/or on a more regular basis at the community mental health building.
