2012 Committee Applications
Consistent with the cycle outlined in the Rules of Procedure, the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) is soliciting applications for membership on the following committees:
- Client and Family Leadership Committee (CFLC)
- Cultural and Linguistic Competence Committee (CLCC)
- Mental Health Services Committee
- Evaluation Committee
- Funding and Policy Committee
The Committee application period begins September 10, 2012 and ends September 29,2012. The applications will be screened and if selected, you will be notified by November 9,2012 and invited to attend the Committee Orientation, which will be held on December 12, 2012.
Release of Client Stakeholder Contract RFP
You are invited to review and respond to this Request for Proposal (RFP), for the Client Stakeholder Contract, entitled RFP MHSOAC-12-008. The California Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) is seeking a contractor to work with local communities to assist in contributing to a robust local planning process, among other deliverables to be named in this RFP. Special Informational Meeting:
MHSOAC will hold a Special Informational Meeting on September 10, 2012 to hear presentations of the program plans that were approved by the MHSOAC that were identified in the July 28, 2012 AP Report. Counties are welcome to participate. The agenda for this meeting will be available no later than August 31, 2012.
Statewide Priority Indicators Phase II
A draft of the UCLA Initial Statewide Priority Indicator Report Phase II is available for public input. This report is the third in a series developed toward creating good measures of MHSA impact. Guided discussion questions are also available below to highlight report aspects that need your insights.

San Diego Community Forum on the MHSA will be held on
Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 2:30 to 6:00 pm at the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley.
The MHSOAC is currently accepting artwork and writing produced by consumers in recovery, family members, and the mental health stakeholders’ community at large to be featured in our special edition newsletter, MHSOAC Expressions, as well as future issues of the MHSOAC newsletter, MHSOAC Update, andpublic view on the MHSOAC Website.
Please submit your artwork, short stories, and poems before July 6, 2012 to be considered for inclusion. We encourage all themes and topics, but especially those with themes of: wellness, recovery, and personal experiences or triumphs as related to mental health.

The MHSOAC announces Dr. Joan Meisel, Ph.D to assist with the development of the Evaluation Master Plan. Dr. Meisel has over 40 years of experience in policy analysis, research, evaluation, and consulting in the health care field with a special emphasis on mental health issues.

Spanish Version of CFLC Transformation Policy Paper Now Available
The Spanish version of the Client and Family Leadership Committee (CFLC) Transformation Policy Paper titled, "Client-driven, Family-focused Transformation of the Mental Health System Through the California Mental Health Services Act", is now available. The English version of the Transformation Policy Paper is available.
